Lessons from This Year’s YFC Lebanon Staff Conference
What do we do when faced with limited resources and a God-sized task? In our volatile region, we’ve learned that plans can quickly change due to circumstances beyond our control. The past years brought crisis upon crisis to Lebanon, but they also brought opportunities to serve youth in ways we never thought possible. YFC Lebanon has grown—in capacity, and reach, and has seen many youth come to Christ.
How do we strengthen what has been built? We empower youth to become leaders within their local churches by maximizing our discipleship efforts.
Lessons from Nehemiah: Building with Purpose
Inspired by Nehemiah’s journey of rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall, the YFC Lebanon team gathered from September 17-19 for our Annual Staff Conference with a renewed focus on discipling youth to build their lives firmly on God’s foundation. Together, we worshiped, connected, and mapped out strategic plans for the coming ministry year.
“Let us rise up and build.” — Nehemiah 2:18
Four Chair Discipleship: A New Framework for Growth
A key focus of our retreat was the introduction of the Four Chair Discipling system—a powerful framework that equips us to guide youth through every stage of their spiritual journey. We learned how the four chairs—representing seekers, new believers, growing disciples, and disciple-makers—mirror the process of moving from curiosity to ministry involvement and, ultimately, to spiritual multiplication. This system will be central to our discipleship strategy across all ministries.
Looking Ahead with Faith
We don’t know what challenges this new ministry year may bring, especially with the rising tensions in Lebanon. But we are confident in God’s faithfulness and remain committed to serving the youth of Lebanon—especially now, when they need us most.
