Andrew’s Journey at AXIS Youth Center
Andrew, a 17-year-old from Zahle, is a young man full of curiosity and ambition. With dreams of studying mechanical engineering and physics, he also enjoys sports and connecting with nature. Yet, beyond his academic and personal pursuits, Andrew’s time at AXIS Youth Center has become a vital part of his spiritual journey toward knowing Christ.
When Andrew first came to AXIS three years ago, the center’s Dare2Ask sessions piqued his interest. These weekly discussions tackled life’s big questions, including one on addiction that left a lasting impression. But it wasn’t just the topics that drew Andrew in—it was the way AXIS created a safe space to explore deeper spiritual truth.
“I started one of the leaders at AXIS about God,” Andrew says. “I was reading the Bible and came across passages that scared me, like the unforgivable sin. I felt like I often messed up, and it made me afraid of God.”
Through a conversation that began casually at the AXIS snack bar, Andrew opened up about his fears. What started as a single discussion grew into regular one-on-one meetings, where he wrestled with questions about God’s forgiveness and grace. “Our conversations taught me that God forgives no matter how far we’ve fallen when we repent,” he reflects. “That truth gave me peace.”
Andrew’s journey didn’t stop there. Encouraged by what he was learning, he joined a core group at AXIS to dive deeper into God’s Word. “I want to know more about who God is,” he shares. “These discussions are helping me grow in my relationship with Him.”
A pivotal moment in Andrew’s journey came when he participated in YFC’s Sa2alna (“We Asked”) project, where youth answered thought-provoking spiritual questions on camera. The question—“How do you imagine the face of God?”—caught him off guard. “It shook me and made me think deeply,” he recalls. Though his answer—a brilliant white light—felt incomplete at the time, it stirred a desire to know God more fully.
Beyond spiritual growth, AXIS has also shaped Andrew relationally. Through its welcoming community, he has formed meaningful connections and learned to trust and focus on others. “I’ve met so many people here who have become important to me,” he says. “It’s also given me confidence to influence others in a positive way and share what I’ve learned.”
Pray for Andrew and other youth at AXIS Youth Center. May the Lord continue to soften their hearts, drawing them closer to Christ.
