A Call to Surrender

Mar 18, 2025

At YFC Lebanon’s AXIS Youth Center in Zahle, God is working in extraordinary ways among Lebanese youth. Many of these youth come from  secular backgrounds, and they are not always clearly exposed to the Gospel. Yet, through AXIS, they are encountering Jesus in a deeply personal way.

Recently, we launched a new group for youth seeking answers. After three sessions, it became clear that these youth needed something more substantial. To truly understand their spiritual standing, we decided to challenge them with a call to surrender their lives fully to Jesus.

The Good News

The group leader felt led to challenge the youth with the heart of the Gospel. Beginning with passages from Acts and Ephesians, he spoke about our sinful nature, which makes us deserving of eternal death, and the depth of God’s grace: a salvation that we can’t earn, but yet has been freely given to us through faith in Jesus. The group watched a video on Jesus and Nicodemus, which sparked a deep conversation about spiritual rebirth.

The final challenge was clear: If God asks you today whether you want to be born again, do you have an answer? One by one, the youth responded. The room was filled with beautiful testimonies.

Personal Encounters

One girl shared how she encountered Jesus in a dream, inviting her to be born again. Since then, she has experienced spiritual renewal, read the Bible deeply, and passionately invites others to experience salvation.

Another young girl described how she had heard about salvation many times but only truly accepted Jesus at a conference when someone challenged her directly. A Syrian girl and her brother, who faced great struggles due to their parents’ absence, shared how she found peace in Jesus. Another young man, whose father is a pastor, finally felt ready to commit his life to Christ.

One girl, battling depression and feelings of worthlessness, confessed her struggles. She believed she wasn’t worthy of God’s love, yet as they prayed together, tears filled her eyes.

As the session came to a close, the youth leader shared his own testimony, affirming that God was truly inviting each of them to be born again. He shared:

“I made it clear that this decision wasn’t just about saying a prayer; it was allowing Jesus to rule over their lives irreversibly. True discipleship comes at a cost. We prayed, and a peaceful stillness followed. I could sense their sincerity.”

A Movement of Discipleship

The excitement among these youth is contagious. They are eager to grow in their faith, participate in outreach events, and invite their friends to AXIS. One girl has already brought three new friends to join the seekers group! The hunger for truth and community is evident, and we are grateful to be part of what God is doing.

Please continue to pray for these young believers. Pray for wisdom as we disciple them, for protection over their faith, and for many more to encounter Jesus. Pray that out of AXIS Youth Center, a movement of transformed lives would rise. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
