Where Living Water Flows

Jul 16, 2025

“I thought I was doing fine, until one quiet moment with God exposed a truth I couldn’t ignore.”

Ghadi was 15 when everything changed. Raised in a home shaped by faith, he followed godly values, attended church, and thought that was enough.

But then came a moment of clarity.

“I asked myself: Why don’t I actually desire God Himself? That’s when I realized: I didn’t truly know Him.”

A Lonely Summer… and an Unexpected Flame

That summer, Ghadi lost a group of close friends. He found himself alone for hours each day, sitting in his room and reading the Bible.

His dad noticed the change and began to disciple him.

“From there, my passion for God grew. I couldn’t keep it to myself.”

At school, students began asking him about Jesus. At church, he started faith conversations with friends.

Once, he tossed a Bible to someone as a joke, and they ended up reading it together.

A Costly Boldness

Living boldly for Jesus came with a cost.

Some friends stopped inviting him to hangouts because he wouldn’t compromise his faith. He was mocked.

But Ghadi didn’t waver.

“Honestly, I didn’t care. I had found something worth far more.”

The YFC Connection

Ghadi first heard about YFC through his mom, who had been in their choirs. He attended his first YFC camp at age 11, knowing almost no one yet quickly made friends.

What impacted him most wasn’t just the games or the sessions.

“It was the love I received from the leaders. They barely knew me, but they cared for me so deeply.”

That love pointed him to Christ.

Nights at Camp

One memory still stands out:

During a “My Story” night at camp, youth worker Issa shared his testimony. Ghadi was deeply moved and spent time afterward alone with God, crying and reflecting.

Last year, something even deeper happened.

“A group of us formed a prayer circle one night… and we didn’t stop praying until morning. The circle kept growing. It was a night I’ll never forget.”

Learning to Pour Out

Ghadi’s journey has been shaped by mentors such as his dad and YFC leaders.

One youth worker once told him:

“You can’t pour into others if you’re not being poured into.”

And Ghadi has learned where to go for that: the Source.

“In John 7, Jesus speaks of living water flowing from within. I can’t keep it in; it overflows into others.”

What’s Next?

Ghadi isn’t sure yet. He has a passion for speaking, studying the Word, and caring for others. Maybe pastoral work is ahead, but he’s waiting on God.

For now, he’s staying close to Jesus.
