True Love and Fulfilment in Christ

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13,14)

On Saturday, YFC Lebanon’s AXIS Youth Center and School Ministry joined forces for a meaningful Valentine’s event that focused on discovering God as the ultimate source of love and fulfillment. Through thought-provoking discussions and activities, the youth explored how attempts to fill the void in their hearts with temporary things ultimately led nowhere.

Youth rotated around two discussion groups which explored important themes. The first was titled “Filling the Void”. In this discussion group, youth created mood boards with various ways they try to fill their emptiness, e.g. through grades, social media, shopping, relationships, and more. Then they discussed whether these pursuits truly fulfill them.

The second discussion group focused on society’s understanding of love, especially through the lens of media portrayals of romance and relationships. They examined the gap between these idealized expectations and the reality they experience, discussing how societal standards can often lead to disappointment and unmet desires.

Following the stations, a message tied it all back to the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. The speaker shared about trying to fill the void in our lives with distractions, while nothing can truly satisfy our thirst apart from Christ’s “living water”. In all, youth were reminded that true fulfillment is only found in Christ, whose love satisfies, sustains, and never fades.
