Can You Handle the Excitement?
As the school year drew to a close, the AXIS Youth Center team sprang into action, hosting a high-energy sports day for teens on Wednesday, June 26, with the support of two personal trainers. The teens gave their all and showed remarkable determination, pushing through their tiredness to finish strong.
The day started with an obstacle course, igniting fierce competition among participants to see who could score the most points. The obstacle course featured slalom runs, navigating agility ladders, and powering through sets of push-ups and burpees—all under the blazing sun, ensuring everyone stayed hydrated and energized.
Divided into teams, teens rotated through activities that blended fitness with fun. While one group enjoyed an aerobic session, the others tackled two game stations. “Knockout” had them in a circle, passing the ball under pressure, where each miss meant dropping to one knee, then both knees, until only the toughest remained standing (or kneeling!).
Next up was “Shoelace Soccer,” where laughter echoed as players navigated the challenge of their tied shoelaces, stumbling and strategizing their way to victory. The excitement peaked with games like tennis and a thrilling rugby-inspired lap race, ending with a precision throw into a bucket.
As the sun set on this adrenaline-fueled day, teens departed with a sense of accomplishment, having poured their energy into a day that mattered. The impact was clear: AXIS continues to be a vital space where teens grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Let’s lift up prayers for these teens, that they remain engaged in AXIS activities, finding a safe space to grow and seek Christ. We celebrate how God is transforming lives at the center, blending fun with the powerful message of the Gospel. May the AXIS team be blessed with creativity and inspiration as they plan future events, ensuring each one leaves a lasting impact on every teen who walks through their doors.
